Hey all. Today we are going to take a quick look at an exciting network tester – the T3 Innovation NP700 Net Prowler Standard Kit. This innovative tester provides a cost-effective testing solution for LAN network diagnostics as well as testing features for other standard types of cabling issues. Let’s dive in.

First off, the T3 Innovation NP700 measures link speed, both advertised and current, and displays them so you can keep track of any discrepancies. The unit also touts more advanced testing features beyond speed measurement, including pinging both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses, the ability to detect VLANs, identification of and configuration tips for CDP/LLDP/ NDP and VLAN, and WAN connectivity verification via specific URL pinging. Say that ten times fast!

More traditional NP700 features include wiremapping with pass/fail testing via visual graphical display, PoE testing, and basic cable testing for opens, shorts, miswires, split pairs, and reverses. All of this functionality comes packaged in an ergonomic handheld casing with a sturdy protective rubber boot and high-resolution full color screen. The unit can also export test results to PDF or CSV for easy and attractive reporting, as well data storage and later analysis. To top it off, this Net Prowler Standard Kit comes packed with a Coax and Network Remote Set: #1-5, F-Conn coupler including foam holder, Network/Tel Testing and ID Remote #1, 2 RJ-12 cables, a Micro USB Cable and hanging T3 pouch.

This a great package for the price and takes up a lot of multifunctional ground in the world of mid-priced cable testers.

Any reader comments on the range of mid-priced tester from this category and how the NP700 stacks up?

Until next time…
