Today we will have a look at an exciting new thermal imager line from Fluke, most specifically the Fluke TiX640. This new series is a top of the line offering from Fluke that can be tailored to highly specialized needs – though it is a powerhouse right out of the box.

The first and arguably most important feature that a technician is going to look for in a thermal camera is the resolution. The Fluke TiX640 delivers the goods in a big way with super high 640 x 480 pixel resolution. Also top of its class is the 60Hz resolution and 30mK sensitivity. The TiX640 also boasts a -40 °F to 2192 °F temperature range. All of these specs taken together with no added features would make a great camera, but this unit goes further and provides a ton of useful and innovative “bells and whistles.” The most standard of these are the various picture-in-picture and fusion modes available on onscreen, including color alarms. The camera is also fully compatible with the innovative new FlukeConnect network technology which allows camera readings to be wirelessly synced and streamed with data from a wide range of Fluke meters. This allows for easy consolidation of inspection and can included additional electrical, moisture and spot temperature readings that can be shared across an entire staff of technicians. The camera also boasts a previously unheard of 32x digital zoom, along with built-in GPS for geo-referencing and the capability for voice and text annotations. Finally, the TiX640 and whole “Expert Series” are compatible with up to 8 different lens options that can be ordered at time of purchase, for the ability to see a whole spectrum of object distances.

The TiX640 is great entry in an exciting new line of cameras from Fluke.
