The Testo 770-3 Hook-Clamp Power Meter is a very unique hook style clamp meter that has many different features that help separate it from the traditional clamp meters you usually see on the market. The Testo 770-3’s most prominent characteristic is how exactly its hook retracts. The problem with traditional clamp meters is the hook opens outwards making it harder to use in tight spaces and increases the difficulty of grabbing onto wires.

The Testo 770-3's clamp retracts downward in a vertical motion, making it very easy to grab the wire with the remaining hook piece while also not increasing the clamp’s size when the clamp is in an open position. Compared to a traditional clamp meter, the Testo 770 is much better at grabbing wires when you do not have a free hand to spare.

The Testo 770-3 Clamp Power Meter’s main testing parameters are TRMS AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, resistance, capacitance, frequency, watts/power factor, continuity, microamps for flame sensor, temperature, and diodes. Another unique aspect of the Testo 770-3 is the fact that the unit automatically selects the optimum range for resistance, capacitance, diode, and continuity so the user is less prone to mistakes.

The Testo 770-3 calculates power measurements in real time, so there is no need to waste time measuring voltage and current in order to calculate watts by hand.

Adding even more versatility to the Testo 770-3 is its Bluetooth capability coupled with the Testo App. The Testo 770-3 will connect to your iOS/Android smartphone or tablet roughly 65 feet away via Bluetooth in optimal conditions. The Testo App allows you to remote view measurements, monitor trends over time, and create reports. The custom reports include photos, data, and graphs that can easily be saved or sent via email, reducing the amount of physical paperwork you would normally run into.

The Testo 770-3 clamp meter is great for use in HVAC, electrical, and light commercial industries.

How many times have you fumbled around with wires with your traditional clamp meter hook?
