Today I am reviewing a specific set of Testo’s new Smart Probe Line. The Testo Smart Probes in question are the Testo 115i Wireless Pipe Clamp and the Testo 549i Wireless Refrigeration Pressure Probe which make up the Testo 0563-0002 AC/R Refrigeration Kit. All of these Testo Smart Probes handle tasks spanning from diagnosing AC system issues, residential and commercial heating & cooling systems, residential and commercial refrigeration, and more.

All of the Testo Smart Probes use wireless Bluetooth to communicate with your Android and Apple smartphone or tablet devices. To use the Smart Probes, the user must first download the Testo Smart Probes App from the Google Play store or Apple store respectively. The app itself features wizards, tutorials, automatic calculations, custom reports, picture support, comment support, PDF/Excel file exports, and supports the connection of up to 6 Testo Smart Probes at once. The connection of up to 6 probes at once is where the Testo Smart Probes become truly versatile. Just imagine being able to monitor 6 different readings at once.

The Testo 115i is a wireless pipe clamp thermometer that is great for measuring pipes in both heating and cooling systems. It measures pipes ranging from 0.25” to 1.5” in diameter and features a measurement range from -58 °F to 302 °F. The Testo 549i is a wireless refrigeration pressure probe that easily measures high and low side pressure on an AC system one at a time or simultaneously with two probes, tests with little to no refrigerant loss, and avoids bulky wires and hoses. The Testo 0563-0002 AC/R Refrigeration Kit includes all of the Testo Smart Probes that I listed: Two (2) Testo 549i's and two (2) Testo 115i's.

How many times have you had to carry heavy, bulky, and awkward wires and cables up and down ladders?
