Dent Instruments PS3037-S-N/PS3037-S-D/PS3037-E-N/PS3037-E-D Powerscout Single-Point Power Meters Review
Dent Instruments has released the newest version of its PowerScout series of power meters. The new PS3037 are a series of single-point revenue-grade power meters that have four different configurations. There are two types of PowerScout 3037 models, one with the standard serial port, or one with a serial port and an Ethernet port. The other two configuration options are to get these units with or without a display screen. To move onto the unit itself, all versions of the PowerScout 3037 (PS3037-S-N/PS3037-S-D/PS3037-E-N/PS3037-E-D) have a broadband power supply (80-600VAC) and can be used with most of the current transformers Dent has to offer. These CT’s can range anywhere from less than 1 Amp up to 4000A for the large RoCoil CT’s. Dent Instruments has also made the new iteration of their power meters even easier to set up. Simply plug the device into a PC via USB cable and access the menu through the provided ViewPoint software. The ViewPoint software allows for customization of CT type being used and you can toggle between Modbus and BACnet. There is also the option of saving the configuration if you need to set up multiple meters with the same layout. This unit is very compact and can be installed in the panel for easy storage. The PowerScout PS3037 Power Meters are also line powered so battery life is not a concern when keeping it in a panel for an extended period of time.
