Fluke VT04 Brand New Next Generation IR Testing

Fluke’s newest offering in the emerging market for Visual IR Thermometers is the Fluke VT04. I recently posted about the Fluke VT02 and mentioned that it has some limitations. Many of these issues have been addressed in VT04 and have set it at the head of the pack for this new kind of tester.

First of all, one of the issues of VT02 versus a traditional thermal imager is the image quality. With the VT04 the quality of the visible light images has been increased by 4 times. This makes the VT04 highly competitive as far as image quality and as the VT02, the VT04 features thermal blending capability which until now was unheard of in this price range. So you still have the ability to quickly locate problem areas via multiple simultaneous temperature readings, but now the quality of the overlain digital image is greatly increased and your ability to find specific spots is that much easier. The VT04 also features an increased field of view (28ºx28º) for viewing a larger area.

All in all, the VT04 is an incredibly useful and cost effective tool for technicians, has virtually no comparable product for competition as of right now.

More to come…
