Hey all. Today we will have a look at the new line of advanced video borescopes available from FLIR. This includes the FLIR VS70 which is the base unit and accessories without a probe, the FLIR VS70-1 which includes a 8mm long focus camera on a 1 meter probe, the FLIR VS70-2 which includes a 5.8mm short focus camera on a 1 meter probe, and the FLIRVS70-3 includes a 2 way 6mm Articulating Camera on a 1-meter probe. Let’s dive in to some features here.

First off, the FLIR VS70 systems are designed to be super rugged. These units are waterproof, shock resistant, rubberized, and can easily stand a 2 meter drop with no damage. It also features a large 5.7in LCD screen with 640 x 480 resolution and camera controls built-into the handset for enhanced probe maneuverability. All of your videos, as well as still image captures of inspections, can be stored on the included SD memory and then transferred later to PC for analysis and reporting. You can also add voice annotations to your inspections with the included headset accessory.

What really sets this unit apart from its competitors though is how modular it is. The base unit, as the FLIR VS70, comes in all the kits described above but there are tons of combinations of camera probes, wireless communication options and accessories to make this camera system highly customized to your job.

Does anyone have any thoughts about how this system seems to set itself apart from other comparable units?

See you next time.
