Today I am reviewing the Triplett LVPRO30 and LVPRO30SR Low Voltage Pro Cable Testers. The Triplett LVPRO30 Low Voltage Cable Testers are great for installation and maintenance of CAT5/6 cable, installation and maintenance of VoIP Phone and IP cameras, installation and maintenance of Ethernet devices, installation and maintenance of CCTV Security cameras, and overall IT and network management.

The LVPRO30 is a feature packed device; it is almost difficult to know where to begin. One of the most prominent features of the Triplett LVPRO30 is its cable diagramming with pass/fail, delay, skew, and ohms. The Triplett LVPRO30 is also able to identify RJ45 and coax jacks with smart probes (LVPRO30SR includes these), measure cable length and distance to open or shorts, check line voltage on RJ45 (PoE) and telephone lines, measure incoming data speed (10/100/1000), test coax and RJ11 cables for faults, and even test alarm systems and other backup batteries by doing a loaded battery test. The LVPRO30 can even perform return loss quality (RLQ) tests for load mismatches that affect the wire’s power and data transfer capability as well as store up to 250 tests to store or print.

The LVPRO30 is also fully compatible with the LVPRO Video Test module, which adds even more features and capabilities to the LVPRO30. The LVPRO Video Test module tests coax and BNC cables for signal level and loss in dBmV, map transmitters on RG6, RG59, and BNC cables, generate color bar test patterns on HDMI displays, and identify HDMI cable quality.

Have you ever needed to test if your alarm's battery backup was still functional?
