Are you still using your Brass 2-Valve Manifold and gauges to analyze refrigerant systems? Do you enjoy picking up some brontosaurus ribs with the family? You might be living in the Stone Age where life is unnecessarily harder than it should be. Now I am not saying you should forgo all things analog and fully submerge yourself into a digital lifestyle, but when it comes to HVAC work, a little bit of shiny new tech never killed anyone. I am referring to a recent trend in refrigeration analysis that utilizes a digital manifold. The Yellow Jacket 40815 Refrigerant System Analyzer and the Yellow Jacket 40852 Mini Refrigeration System Analyzer are both digital manifolds that can lighten the load in your toolbox.

The Yellow Jacket 40815 is a full featured refrigerant system analyzer. This unit comes with a digital color display that is programmed with almost 100 different refrigerants (with the option to be updated at a later time via USB).  Attached to the display is the TITAN 4-Valve Aluminum which comes with 60” PLUS II RYB Charging Hoses giving you everything you need to begin the job. It also features a built in pressure/temperature reference chart for all the refrigerants and monitors two temperatures, two pressures, liquid/vapor temperatures, and measures subcool and superheat. The Yellow Jacket 40815 Refrigerant System Analyzer also data logs so you can export later to generate reports. The unit comes packed in a nice case and Yellow Jacket offers a two year warranty.

If you are not quite ready to jump into the full analyzer Yellow Jacket has just released the 40852 Mini Refrigerant System Analyzer. This analyzer is designed to be used in line of your existing Manifold and hoses. It has many of the same features as the full 40815 RSA but pared down. For instance, the Yellow Jacket 40852 Mini Refrigerant System Analyzer measures one temperature and one pressure instead of two each. This analyzer will still calculate superheat and subcool as well as display saturated, bubble, and dewpoint temperatures. The 40852 still boasts a two year warranty as well as nearly 100 refrigerants.

Whether you are looking to make the complete switch or you want to transition a little slower, Yellow Jacket has a product that will fit your budget and toolbox requirements.

Cheers and Happy Testing,

-Sam
