Fluke 279 FC/iFLEX Thermal Multimeter with Integrated Imager Camera and iFlex Probe Review
Today I am reviewing the Fluke 279 FC Thermal Multimeter with Integrated Imager Camera. The Fluke 279 FC is a truly innovative multimeter with a built-in thermal imaging camera. This combination of technology enables the user to locate potential electrical problems designated by abnormal temperatures in cluttered wires, electrical boxes, panels, cabinets, etc. with the follow-up ability to test perceived problems with the test leads or iFLEX clamp. The Fluke 279 FC is useful in many different applications such as electrical, HVAC, security, and much more.
The Fluke 279 FC can measure up to 1000V AC/DC and up to 2500 amps with the iFlex clamp. The Fluke 279 FC can also measure resistance up to 50 MΩ, continuity, frequency, capacitance up to 9999 µF, and test diodes. The Fluke 279 FC is a true-rms meter so the measurements are not influenced by interference or distortion. The thermal imaging side of the Fluke 279 FC can measure from -10 °C to 200 °C (14 °F to 392 °F) with a 80 x 60 thermal image resolution.
The Fluke 279 FC features a 3.5 inch colored display, a 3000 mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery, drop resistance up to almost 10 feet, a three-year warranty, and Fluke Connect. Fluke Connect adds some unique features to the Fluke 279 FC such as directly connecting the Fluke 279 FC with your phone or tablet via Bluetooth to safely take readings from a distance, and view live trending data. Fluke Connect also adds the ability to easily send email reports while in the field, save readings directly to your phone, upload readings to the cloud, and take video calls with ShareLive while taking measurements.
