Today I will be reviewing the Fieldpiece SC57 Wireless Clamp Meter. As with everything else Fieldpiece does, this is built with HVAC technicians squarely in mind. You can rest assured that this meter will handle your day to day operations and make your life easier. Below I will touch on features of this unit, what tests this unit performs, and the role wireless technology can play in the field and why you should want it.

One thing you will notice about the Fieldpiece SC57 Wireless Clamp Meter is the size and shape of the meter. This meter is a bit longer than a standard meter which allows it to be slimmer which gives it a more natural feel when you are holding it. This meter also features a swivel head clamp which makes it easier to get readings when working in a cramped space or panel. If you are working in a dark space then Fieldpiece has you covered as there is an LED Flashlight inside the clamp jaw as well as a bright backlit display. Included with your purchase is the following,

  • ET2W – Wireless Transmitter
  • ADLS2 – Deluxe Silicone Test Leads
  • ASA2 – Alligator Clip Lead Extensions
  • ATB1 – K-Type Thermocouple

Great, this meter has some cool features and comes with a few different attachments to make life easier, but what can it actually do? Well you are in luck as this meter has a plethora of tests.

The last subject I wanted to cover is one of the most important. The wireless capabilities offered by the Fieldpiece SC57 Wireless Swivel Head Clamp Meter help free up your hands to work on other things. To utilize this feature, the unit comes with the wireless transmitter that we mentioned earlier. Fieldpiece offers many optional accessory heads that can widen the range of tests you can do over the SC57 Clamp Meter itself. Some quick examples of how wireless can be used would be to set up a wireless transmitter and the appropriate accessory head at a condenser to read indoor wet bulb, measure amps behind a sealed blower door, or take vacuum readings while you walk the job site keep an eye on everything right on the screen of the Fieldpiece SC57 Wireless Swivel Head Clamp Meter. Here is a short list of other accessory heads that can be used with the wireless transmitter. For a complete list of offerings, follow this link.
