Hello. Today I want to talk about the all new Wohler A 450 Wireless Combustion Analyzer. For those who are unaware, Wohler is a German manufacturer that started in 1932 as chimney brush making factory in Berlin. In 1965 they started developing and producing their first measuring devices. Wohler may be a big player in the chimney sweeping business, their commitment to developing great combustion analyzers cannot be questioned. The new a 450 Combustion Analyzer continues this trend through its innovation and heavily German influenced style of keeping the instrument low on frills and high on usability and efficiencies. Let’s begin with a quick overview of what comes with the unit when you purchase it.

Wohler offers three different progressive kits for their A 450 combustion gas analyzer that allows you to pick the one that fits your needs. Below is a table that highlights what each version offers.

Now that we have that out of the way, let’s delve into why the Wohler A 450 is worth your interest. The first thing you notice is its size. It is very compact and fits comfortably in your hand. The next thing you will probably notice is the display. It is a 5” touchscreen and it comes with a plastic cover to protect the unit when it is not in use. The screen is also customizable and can monitor up to 14 readings simultaneously if you so desire.  The unit is equipped with an Oxygen Sensor (0-21.0 vol %) as well as a Carbon Monoxide Sensor (0-10,000 ppm) and has an optional Nitric Oxide sensor (0-3,000 vol. ppm) available if needed. Wohler also created an app for the A 450 that allows the user to operate and monitor the A 450 away from the worksite via Wireless LAN. The app can monitor the data live as well as send the data directly to the customer. This is a great tool to have as access to the work site is not always readily available or spacious enough to work. The Wohler A 450 is also designed with the technician in mind. Maintenance is simple as the sensors can be replaced in the field while the condensate trap can be easily removed and replaced. There is also a tuning guide built into the unit that makes adjusting a burner easier than ever.

The Wohler A 450 Combustion Analyzer is the latest iteration of the German manufacturer’s commitment to flue gas analysis and is their best analyzer yet. Each new model shows an improvement over the previous generation and shows that they are in touch with what technicians are looking for.
