Tramex is a specialized company that has been producing Moisture Meters for 30 years. For this reason they are leaders in the field of Moisture detection for Concrete. The Tramex CME4 Concrete Moisture Encounter is a great product for non-destructive impedance measurement. This unit is equipped with spring loaded electrodes on the base to ensure an even contact with the surface for a more accurate reading. You want to ensure a good firm contact with the surface so you would apply enough pressure when placing the unit on the area to be analyzed. The CME4 transmits a low frequency signal that penetrates the surface to an approximate depth of ½” to ¾”. For Concrete surfaces the unit displays ranges of 0 – 6% moisture content, while for gypsum floor screed it will give you a reading of 0-10. Also, it is worth noting that the Tramex CME4 Concrete Moisture Encounter is calibrated for readings on a clean dust free and bare concrete surface. If the surface you are reading is painted, coated, or has any other type of material on the surface, the reading will not be wholly accurate but should be taken as a comparative reading. Overall this unit is super easy to use and is a great tool for anyone looking to analyze the moisture content in concrete and gypsum.

Cheers and Happy Testing,
