Today I will be discussing the New Testo 549 Digital Manifold 0560 0550. This is a brand new offering from Testo and even makes the bold claim to make analog manifold gauges obsolete. With a price of $199 it is not hard to imagine why.

Normal analog manifold gauges have a life expectancy of 1-2 years depending on the technician and at $50 a set, a Testo 549 can pay for itself in as little as 4 years. This does not even factor in the use of multiple gauge sets depending on the refrigerants you are using in the field. Consider Analog Manifold Gauges put on notice!

Like all Digital Manifolds before it, the Testo 549 Digital Manifold System comes pre-loaded with dozens of refrigerant profiles (60 in this case) at time of purchase. This unit is a standard 2 Valve 3 Port Manifold that can read Pressure (High and Low) and Temperature (Superheat and Subcool) simultaneously on the display. This instrument is very reliable with posted accuracies for Pressure (-14.7 – 870 psi) and Temperature (-58 - +302 F) of +/- 0.5% and +/- 0.9 Degrees F respectively.

The manifold itself is built to be very rugged and does have a good heft to it when you hold it. The screen itself is large and crisp so the numbers are very easy to read. It does come with a backlight that can be toggled on or off as needed as well.

With this new offering by Testo (0560 0550), the new benchmark has been set. While the use of analog gauges will not fall to the wayside, their presence will definitely be diminished with this new highly affordable digital manifold system. Are you ready to finally put down those old analog gauges and step into the 21st century? Let us know in the comments!
