Having a handy cable tester for everyday use is vital in today’s workplace. The Klein Tools VDV501-826 VDV Scout Pro 2 LT Cable Tester Remote Kit is one such device. This is a complete basic cable tester that will handle most if not all of your daily operations. This versatile meter can test 6 and 8 wire cable as well as coaxial cable on a variety of different tests. These include basic wire mapping (wall ID’s sold separately), testing for shorts, miswires, split pairs or opens, as well as a continuity test. The Klein Tools VDV501-826 VDV Scout Pro 2 also measures cable length in feet or meters. The meter is very easy to operate and weighs almost nothing. The screen is clear and easy to read making work a breeze. There is also a tone generator built-in that can produce 4 different tones, although a probe will need to be purchased separately. The kit comes housed in a handy case and is inset in foam to keep it protected while not in use. Also included are 8 Test n Map remotes that greatly reduce mapping times with the ability to test, map, and identify in a single step. Eight of these remotes are the max so if you need to map more you will have to use the old school wall ID jacks that can handle up to 19 ID’s at a time.
