The Fluke TiS60 has been discontinued. Please browse the FLIR Thermal Imaging Cameras Catalog.

Today we will be visiting a new thermal imaging camera from Fluke, the TiS60. The Fluke TiS60 is part of the Performance Series of cameras that fills the space of entry to midlevel thermal cameras. This camera has a detector resolution of 260 x 195 (50,700 pixels) and a spatial resolution of 2.4 mRad. The field of view for this series of cameras is 35.7° Horizontal x 26.8° Vertical. The Fluke TiS60 features a fixed focus lens with a minimum focus distance of roughly 18 inches and a thermal sensitivity of 0.08 ℃.

As one would expect of most new technology these days, the Fluke TiS60 Infrared Camera includes wireless connectivity. This connectivity allows you to link up with your PC, iPad, iPhone, or Android via the Fluke Connect app. As previously discussed here, Fluke Connect is an excellent app offered by Fluke that links your smartphone and computer to the Tis60 thermal camera so any pictures you take will automatically be uploaded to Fluke Connect. Fluke Connect allows you to view and create reports to share with clients or other peers as well as analyze thermal date for each image.

Another great feature of this Fluke TiS60 Infrared Camera is IR-Fusion technology. IR-Fusion is layering a digital image onto the thermal image to give better detail to the objects being analyzed. This is done automatically in the reporting software as the camera will take both a thermal image and a digital image each time you pull the trigger. This is a nice feature because viewing thermal images, while having excellent thermal data points, does not always have enough image clarity and sharpness to know where on a motor, electrical panel, or object being analyzed any potential problems could be occurring.

I would like to cover for a minute what kind of applications this infrared camera would be great for. Building inspection is the first application that comes to mind for this camera. The resolution is more than enough for measurements of electrical panels, air conditioning ducts, and wall temperatures. The IR-Fusion really shines in these applications as the digital image helps show clients the specific areas that were photographed. Another application for the Fluke TiS60 infrared camera would be a small plant MRO operation. Same thing as with the building inspection, the resolution and IR-Fusion are great features to inspect motors and machines that are under constant operation. The wireless capabilities to utilize Fluke Connect is also great to maintain open communication with managers and machine operators with report creation and stored images anyone can access.

If you are new to the infrared camera market or you are looking to upgrade your older camera, the Fluke TiS60 Infrared Camera is definitely worth looking into. Not every camera needs to be laden with tons of features to be a viable candidate as sometimes what you really need is a streamlined camera that takes crisp images with lots of data points.
