When we last left off, I gave a small introduction to Fieldpiece and their philosophy regarding Multimeters in the HVAC world. Today we are going to discuss their HS36 TRMS Stick Meter. The Fieldpiece HS36 TRMS Stick Multimeter represents the top of the line Stick meter that Fieldpiece currently offers. For those unfamiliar with Stick style meters, this post should be a great introduction.

As you can see from the picture, the top of this multimeter looks a skosh different than what you might be used to. This unique shape is purposefully designed to accept the many Accessory Heads that Fieldpiece makes. The Accessory Heads allow you to upgrade your meter without having to buy a new one with more features. Simply snap on the accessory heads you need and you are ready to get to work. Check back in for future blog entries about individual accessory heads. For now, lets’ go over what this puppy can handle out of the box.

The Fieldpiece HS36 TRMS Digital Multimeter is capable of handling all of the common tests you expect a multimeter to do. These tests include Resistance, Frequency, Auto Ranging DC Volts, Continuity, and Non-Contact Voltage. Besides the meter, it also comes with a 400A Amp Clamp Accessory head, Deluxe Silicone Test Leads w/ detachable probe tips, K-Type Thermocouple, Alligator Lead Extensions, Soft Case, Magnetic hanging strap, and an Operator’s manual.

Fieldpiece has great support for their products and offers many videos that give a great introduction to their products. The HS36 is no different and I have provided the link to the video here.

Check back next week when I go over a few Accessory Heads that will show the unique functionality that Fieldpiece has brought to their stick meters.

Cheers and Happy Testing
