Today we will be reviewing the Dwyer 473B-1 Vane Thermo-Anemometer. The Dwyer 473B-1 is a versatile tool that’s affordable as well.

The Dwyer 473B-1’s main appeal is its ability to easily and quickly measure velocity, air temperature, volumetric air flow, and humidity all at the same time. The Dwyer 473B-1 essentially combines four tools into one, making it the “Swiss army knife” of HVAC testing technology. The Dwyer 473B-1 is compatible with a variety of Dwyer’s other probes, but comes with Dwyer’s VP1 100mm vane thermo-anemometer. The Dwyer 473B-1 can read temperatures from -40 to 212°F. It can process air velocity at temperatures between -20 to 212°F, and measure up to 6000FPM with the included VP1 thermo-anemometer. The Dwyer 473B-1 is rugged and is built to be able to handle itself in any condition. It has an extruded aluminum housing which keeps it lightweight but sturdy, and a digital LCD display that allows you to see in dark or bright conditions. The Dwyer 473B-1 also has the ability to datalog up to 99 different readings.

The Dwyer 473B-1 is great for any technician that wants to minimize the number of tools for the job. It’s great for HVAC inspections and residential balancing.
