The Amprobe AT-7020 Wire Tracer has been discontinued. Please browse the Amprobe Wire Tracers Catalog.

The AT-7020 is the newest offering from Amprobe for Wire Tracing. This meter features many new upgrades to any existing Wire Tracer you may already have.

The first is a Smart Sensor that is located on the back of the unit. This new sensor has an advanced signal processor and a new antenna design to give the most accurate location and orientation of wires in walls. The transmitter also features two different frequencies for improved results in energized and de-energized wires. The Amprobe AT-7020 Circuit Tracer can also be used to accurately identify circuit breakers by plugging the transmitter into the socket.

The biggest change to this wire tracer is the graphical display. This is a huge boon as it will give direction of the part as an arrow and also beep when the correct circuit is found. There is also helpful arrows displayed showing which direction the wire is if not directly over said wire.

The Amprobe AT-7020 Advanced Wire Tracer is simple to use and is built with experts and as well as beginners in mind. The display also features embedded help screens to make sure the setup is easy and error free. If you are looking for an upgrade to your old wire tracer or just in the market for a new wire tracer altogether, the Amprobe AT-7020 Wire Tracer is the first place I would look.

Does adding a graphical display change the equation enough for you to replace an older unit? Let us know in the comments!

Cheers and Happy Testing,

-Sam
